Unprecedented Consolidation Delivers Big Turnaround for Canadian Cancer Society
HALO CEO Paula Roberts has worked closely with the Executive Leadership Teams at both the former Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) and the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) leading their Mass Marketing, Brand and Communications teams starting in 2015.
Both organizations recognized the need for transformational change and in February 2017 CBCF and CCS merged in an effort to bring together the strengths of both organizations while eliminating duplicate costs, maximizing impact for Canadians who care about people affected by cancer. First year results show that the decision to merge while unprecedented, has paid off in spades with CCS posting an 8M surplus just one year later while lowering costs.
“It’s been a privilege to work with the visionary leaders and volunteers first at CBCF and now at CCS,” says Roberts. “Cancer is something that touches all of us in one way or another and advancing this cause fits beautifully with HALO’s commitment to advancing the NFP sector.”
